On Sunday 27 September, Bristolβs Wardrobe Theatre will host On Your Bike Baffo!, a lively new family show designed for children aged 3 to 8. This interactive performance combines clowning, slapstick comedy, live music and audience involvement in a playful story about a determined clown named Baffo who tries to build and ride a bicycle despite a series of comic mishaps.
Created by Oliver Harrison and performed by Drew Cripps, the show follows Baffo as he discovers objects from a mysterious box and attempts to assemble his bike with the help of the audience. The production encourages children to join in, making each performance unique and spontaneous.
Oliver Harrison developed the show with input from primary school children, ensuring it resonates with its young audience. Inspired by his own experiences teaching his daughters to cycle, Harrison says the show celebrates optimism and the fun found in learning through mistakes.
Live music by Tom Penn plays a key role, interacting with Baffoβs actions to enhance the comedy and create a shared experience between performer and audience.
Oliver Harrison expressed his enthusiasm for bringing the show to Bristol, highlighting the cityβs rich circus heritage and vibrant community of performers. The Wardrobe Theatre, located in The Old Market Assembly, will host two performances on the day at 11:00 and 14:00.
